Olmo’s deep connection with racing stems from the sporting achievements of Giuseppe Olmo. Between 1932 and 1938, his efforts helped Italian cycling shine. Since 1939, with the founding of Olmo Biciclette, its flagship models have equipped numerous teams and professionals around the world.

In 1924, Giuseppe Olmo showed extraordinary determination when he closely tailed cyclists Girardengo and Olivieri during a training session. Impressed by his talent, Olivieri asked to coach him, foreseeing a glorious future for the boy. Gepin promised to become a champion and leave an indelible mark on the history of Italian cycling.

Giuseppe dazzled during the world time trial in Copenhagen with an impressive second-place finish, but he didn't stop there. The following year, he won an Olympic gold in the 100km team race, glowing under the Olympic flame and climbing to the top of the podium.

In 1935, young Olmo, known as the Champion of Celle, beat the Hour Record on the track without the help of coaches, hitting 45.090 km and surpassing
Maurice Richard. This event marked an epic moment in the history of cycling, highlighting his determination, speed, and talent. He then won his First Milan Sanremo and was the hour record holder at the Vigorelli in Milan. In 1936, he became the Italian National Road Race Champion and came in second at the Giro d 'Italia behind Bartali. He won ten stages, including the timed climb to Terminillo, beating Bartali. In 1938, he won his second Milan Sanremo.

In 1939, the Olmo factory rose to prominence and prestige, quickly establishing itself as one of the most significant brands in the world of cycling. No other brand can match the history of Olmo, which produces bicycles built from lived experience, with Gepin's sweat, passion, and beating heart in every model.

Renowned for their quality and precision, Olmo bicycles became popular globally during the '50s, traveling as far as Argentina. Gepin and Olmo continued to innovate in bicycle design and materials, redefining the concept of cycling in the international arena.

In 1978, riding a Zonca Santini Olmo, Pierino Gavazzi won the Italian Road Championship. In 1980, on a Magniflex Olmo, Gavazzi triumphed at Milan-Sanremo. In 1983 and 1985, the Spanish cyclist Marino Lejarreta won significant victories riding an AlfaLum Olmo.

From 1998 to 2000, the Vitalicio Seguros team won three Spanish championships and the World Road Cycling Championship in Verona in 1999 with Oscar Freire.
